Using the existing OpenIDEO online platform, design a challenge initiative that represents OpenIDEO and Gary Community Investments brand partnership and attracts innovators from diverse backgrounds to submit solutions to the question; How might we maximize every child’s potential during their first three years of life?
"The first few years of a child’s life lay the foundation for future success. As young children are busy trying to understand who they are and how the world works, they are influenced by many factors, including relationships with parents and caregivers, experiences at home or in child care and influences of the community in which they grow up. It’s these earliest moments that matter most – but too many young children are not reaching their full potential because existing approaches to early learning and development are not sufficiently addressing today’s challenges." —OpenIDEO
As head UI designer I worked directly with OpenIDEO’s team to design a challenge that reflected months of field study and user research. I organized key data and designed highly visual presentation pitches that determined the best approach to designing the challenge. I then developed brand guidelines that reflected both GCI and OpenIDEO as well as a responsive landing page serving as an information hub for challenge participants with additional informational assets in the form of interactive PDFs. Challenge launched October 25th, 2017 on OpenIDEO.com
